What does feel better to live better even mean? Personally, when I feel better, meaning, my body is moving with little to no pain, I’ve had enough sleep, I’m hydrated and well fed, my emotions are in check and I’m listening and following my internal guidance system (my spirt), then my life is better. Better in the sense that I can accomplish tasks, deliver my communications, listen to what I need each day so I can be the best version of myself and my life. Who doesn’t want that? But how do we get to this place and maintain feeling better as a way of living, especially in a world that offers its own set of challenges for us? By following your “Internal Guidance System” or IGS. Have you ever felt “moved” to do something, change something, say something, take on something because deep down a strong feeling is telling you this is the right course of action? That is your “Internal Guidance System”, your Intuition, your Spirit/Soul showing you the way! I first heard the term “Internal Guidance System” at a yoga class a few years ago and that term has resonated with me ever since. Sometimes I say I’m getting a “hit”, meaning it’s my IGS telling me to do something for my greater good. It could be as simple as taking a different route to work or the need for an important communication or go to bed earlier. A certain amount of trust begins to build the more I follow it. And if I don’t listen and follow it, then I regret it. Here is one of many personal experiences of following my IGS and where it’s taken me on my health journey so I can continue feeling better to live better: My physical health was heading down a slippery slope beginning in 2013 with a high Heavy Metal Load, specifically lead, diagnosed by a naturopath. Between 2013 and 2020 I was experiencing all kinds of symptoms: mysterious rash on my hands, borderline high blood pressure, brain fog, fatigue, episodes of dizziness, mysterious lump on the left side of my throat, pain and swelling in my joints and spine, nerve pain down one leg(sciatica) beginnings of hair loss and unexplained 40% hearing loss in my left ear along with tinnitus. I could have easily taken the medical route, seeing specialist after specialist for my symptoms but instead I chose to work with my naturopath. However, after trying many supplement treatments, IV EDTA Chelation therapy and various food protocols, nothing was really improving my situation. In 2019 my IGS felt the need for me to share my health challenges with a fellow yoga participant at a yoga training I was attending. She recommended that I check out Anthony William, Medical Medium. She shared her personal experience of working with him and how it changed her life. After the training that weekend, I bought some of his books and started another path of taking my health back into my own hands. My health truly shifted when I incorporated lemon water, celery juice and the heavy metal detox smoothie every morning, ate plant-based meals, cut out troublemaker foods and followed cleansing programs at the recommendation of Anthony William, Medical Medium. To this day I have very little to no joint pain or swelling, nerve pain down my leg is gone, brain fog is gone, blood pressure is normal, the lump in my throat is gone, hair is growing back, curlier than before, no more weird rashes and my energy is good and consistent all day long. I can tell by how I’m feeling that I’m on the right path for my long-term healthcare. I do adjust and tweak things as my body ages and changes but that’s because I’m listening to my IGS.
